Joining the family business can be both an opportunity and a significant challenge for the next generation. And if joining the family enterprise is not the choice, how to decide what other career paths to take. Conventional education including the many excellent business schools provide significant learning opportunities, but what can be missing is the tailored support for the individual to ensure their skills, personality and interests are maximised for their own and the organisation’s success. Our training and development programmes combine industry best practice with insights from psychology and behaviourial science and are designed around your specific learning goals and organisation objectives.
The K Family, workshops for seven family members between 22 – 31
“Delighted to report a significantly increased level of engagement and performance from all participants and a renewed energy and desire to make progress and work together for the family enterprise.”
The K family sought our assistance to prepare and support their next gen as they ventured into roles within their global family enterprise. Aligned with the patriarch's vision, we structured a series of workshops tailored to the collective and individual needs and aspirations.
The initial workshop emphasised the development of communication skills and leadership styles to foster collaborative teamwork—a cornerstone of the family's ethos. Subsequently, the focus shifted to finance and economics in the second workshop. Here, all family members gained essential financial literacy, delving into topics such as wealth management, entrepreneurship, security, and risk management. Each workshop was led by industry experts and supplemented by additional sessions exploring global issues and the impact of artificial intelligence.
By providing targeted training and expertise, we equipped the K family's next generation with the knowledge and skills essential for success in their evolving roles within the family enterprise and beyond.
Jack and Laura – siblings 24 and 27
“We are benefiting on so many fronts – where else could we gain this breadth of knowledge and opportunities?”
Despite Jack and Laura's impressive academic and sporting accomplishments, their mother harboured concerns about potential gaps in their education. To address this, they opted for a tailored program offered by KMA, selecting ten core modules covering essential skills not typically taught in formal settings.
Over the course of ten weeks, Jack and Laura received personalised instruction in areas including time management, sustainability, professional networking, philanthropy, decision-making, marketing, leadership, financial literacy, communications, and entrepreneurialism.
They also undertook rigorous skills assessments which formed the framework for their tailored personal and professional development plan. These plans incorporated experiential learning opportunities, work placements, and strategic networking initiatives, ensuring Jack and Laura's holistic growth and preparedness for their future roles.
